da betcris: Leeds United are set to pursue a new centre-forward before the closure of the January transfer window.

Leeds 'in talks' with Romano Schmid

da aviator aposta: According to Fabrizio Romano, the Whites are in negotiations to sign Austria international Romano Schmid, who plays his club football in the Bundesliga for Werder Bremen.

Schmid has provided five assists in 17 games in the German top flight this season, with Daniel Farke keen to add more creativity behind star striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the hopes of maintaining his red hot form.

The manager was delighted with the win against high-flying Fulham at the weekend, and has also been boosted by the addition of Facundo Buonanotte.

And, according to The Yorkshire Evening Post’s Graham Smyth, the club may feel satisfied that the capture of the Argentine does enough to boost their attacking midfield ranks.

“Buonanotte’s arrival ticked the attacking midfielder box for Leeds and it would only take some unforeseen circumstances to draw them back to the table for Schmid,” he said.

“They were in talks over a deal, although had not made an offer and would not have made one at the price quoted by Sunday’s reports from transfer journalists.

“But multiple club sources insist that their attention is now on the centre forward position and possibilities in the current market to sign another targetman.”

And it seems the club could get creative to secure a new centre-forward…

Leeds can forget Doekhi by signing Bijol replacement who once cost £38m

Leeds United could replace Jaka Bijol by swooping to sign this alternative to Danilho Doekhi in January.

ByDan Emery Leeds could avoid PSR with player-cash deal

Smyth reports that Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen remains the most likely arrival at Elland Road, with the Molineux outfit staring down the barrel at relegation and likely to need to shift some players.

Wolves manager Rob Edwards praised the striker recently after a hat-trick in the FA Cup: “He is a top quality player… he’s been a big part of why we’ve been able to start turning this around.”

And while a loan to buy would be preferable, Smyth believes Leeds could include a player as a makeweight in order to ease their PSR concerns.

Recent transfer windows have seen clubs utisliing such deals to dance around the guidelines, and Leeds have several fringe players on high wages.

Jack Harrison, who was the second top earner at the club, has now left, and the Whites may look back on this window as a major success if they end it with a new number ten, striker and multiple unwanted assets off the wage bill.
