da realbet: After a promising start to the game, Everton fell away significantly in their 2-0 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates last Sunday.
da brwin: Overall, it was another disappointing performance from Marco Silva’s men, although there was one player who would have been able to leave north London with his head held high.
The Breakdown
While it was a poor team display, individually, Idrissa Gueye played at a very high level on the day, and has since come in for praise from former Everton midfielder Don Hutchison.
Speaking to Everton’s official club website (via HITC), Hutchison said: “I saw a top performance from Gana against Arsenal. His side was away from home at a tough place to play and he was commanding. I thought he got around the pitch really well and was snappy in the tackle, which I like – that is his game.
“I think he is an excellent holder in midfield, in the mould of N’Golo Kante. His stats are incredible. He wins tackles – and wins the ball high up the pitch. It is very important for this Everton side to have a player with Gana’s qualities.”
Looking at how he gets up and down the pitch and the tackles he puts in, there are definitely similarities between Gueye and Kante. And at Everton, there is without a doubt, no better player than the Senegal international at what he does.

With all the attacking additions Silva has made including Richarlison and Bernard, the Portuguese coach needs to make sure there is still some sort of balance in the team.
And Gueye is the man who can provide him with that.
